The chicken coop is made from quality materials. The framing for the floor is treated 2x4 wood. Decking for the floor is 5/8” plywood, outside walls are 5/8" siding, 2x2 inside framing and rafters, 1x2 and 1x3 trim, and a metal roof with lathing strips instead of plywood for better ventilation. Everything has two coats of primer and three coats of exterior paint underneath, on the outside, and on the floor on the inside - plus 18” up the side walls as an added barrier to protect the wood from absorbing waste odor.
Additionally, it has a XL side door for easy access and cleaning, an 8x12 cutout in the floor for better ventilation, two roosting bars that are both removable, four 4” round vents, and a 12x12 tempered glass window that doesn’t open. This coop has one nesting box.

This coop will hold up to 6 chickens at two square feet per chicken. The number of square feet you need depends on if you have small, medium, or large birds.
